Flight of Angels

Departure: Rising Toward the "Smoke"
The flight departs from a helipad just a few minutes from the Victoria Falls town center (Zimbabwe) or Livingstone (Zambia). As the helicopter lifts off, you head "to" the Zambezi River. Within seconds, the massive column of white spray—Mosi-oa-Tunya—appears on the horizon, creating a dramatic landmark that guides the pilot toward the precipice.
The Approach: The Upper Zambezi
As you fly toward the falls, you glide over the calm, wide waters of the Upper Zambezi River. From this vantage point, you can see the lush green islands—including Livingstone Island—dotted along the river just before the water makes its thunderous 108-meter drop into the chasm.
The 360-Degree Circuit (The "Angels" View)
This is the heart of the experience. The pilot performs a series of synchronized orbits over the falls in both directions.
The Gorge & The Bridge
The flight takes a brief loop over the Batoka Gorge, the deep zig-zagging canyon carved by the river over thousands of years. You’ll see the Victoria Falls Bridge spanning the border, often with tiny specks representing bungee jumpers, before the pilot turns the aircraft for the return leg.
The Return: "Fro" to the Base
On the "fro" leg back to the helipad, you get a final panoramic look at the entire landscape—the river, the falls, and the surrounding Zambezi National Park. The flight concludes with a smooth descent back to the base, providing a sense of completion to the most famous short-circuit flight in Africa.
